Can you teach English and offer accommodation to a foreign student in your home?

Homelingua is a specialist language training organisation providing total immersion English courses on which the student lives and studies in the home of their teacher.

We are looking for home teachers in all parts of the UK and Ireland who can provide comfortable home accommodation and a course of one to English language tuition.

You will need to have either a CELTA or equivalent qualification in teaching English or a PGCE qualification. We consider other qualifications and experience on a case by case basis.

Our students need to be welcomed in the teacher's home and treated ' as a member of the family'. The teacher needs to provide a private bedroom for the student and all meals. Our students are adults and young learners from Europe, Russia and Japan and come for stays of between 1-8 weeks. The teacher is expected to provide between 10-20 hours of language tuition per week and to facilitate other opportunities for the student to use their English outside of lesson times.

Our students are hardworking and self motivated individuals who choose this type of language learning course as a way to quickly improve their English language skills.

Home teaching doesn't offer an alternative to full time work, but it is a rewarding form of self-employment for teachers who require the flexibility and benefits of working from home.
